Hazel is an attractive, bushy tree which produces a mass of yellow-green catkins in the early spring followed a heavy crop of cobnuts in from September. The broad leaves help to provide an effective screen from spring through until autumn whenb they will fall to uncover a dense stand of upright stems. Most Hazelnuts are self-fertile and therefore do not require a pollination companion. Hazels will begin to produce nuts three to four years after planting. Height: 8m (26′). Spread: 8m (26′). Planting distance: 30cm (12″). (4 plants per metre for a single line hedge).
